One of the tools and resources I have used most often in my work as a mediator is innovation. It has proved hugely effective in many of the cases I’ve worked on. And I believe it is even more important now, as we address our current national polarization, and seek to heal America.
Luckily innovation is a very teachable and learnable skill. I also find it an extremely interesting topic, so I’ve put together a course in how to become an innovator through this book, “One Good Idea.”
I originally designed the course in conjunction with my mediation work. But the techniques in the book are general ones, and can be used in a wide variety of different areas. What the book really teaches is a different way of thinking, and alternative approaches to problem solving. You can apply them to any situation you choose.
I wanted the book to be helpful, but I also wanted it to be interesting and fun. So I’ve included some amazing, funny, and inspiring stories. I’m always on the lookout for great stories, and this book includes some of my all-time favorites.
